Unity staging official event for Surprise
Unity Dental Assisting has announced a June 6 grand opening date in Surprise. The 13-week dental assistant school is located at 15331 W. Bell Road #204.
Strategically built around creating a student-first environment, focus is placed on the learnings and successes of each student as they grow to become a dental assistant through hands-on training.
Unity Dental Assisting was conceptualized out of necessity to bridge the impossibly large gap between those who desperately need basic oral health care and those who can provide it. “Our aim is to create a relationship through Unity [Dental Assisting] between students and the local community,” said Dr. Whitney Sebree, president and CEO of Unity Dental Assisting. “By focusing the school around teaching hands-on skills and serving others, we believe all students of UDA will learn the value and importance of giving back. At the most basic level, this is the backbone of creating a strong community and an invaluable aspect of what we stand for at Unity Dental Assisting.” Unity understands the power of learning through a hands-on approach and has designed the curriculum to meet the needs of the everchanging landscape of dentistry. Unity students will be given the opportunity to assist in live-patient clinics where they’ll learn technical skills, communication, empathy and compassion. These live-patients will be referred to Unity through a network of partnerships with local non-profit organizations and healthcare institutes. Referred patients will receive free basic dental care by Unity Dental Assisting at their facilities in the Surprise Professional Center. “We are proud to partner with Unity Dental Assisting as we work together to create a network of support and opportunity for those who truly need and deserve basic dental care,” said Connie Kinnee, senior manager of training and development at Adelante Healthcare. “Unity has created an extremely valuable and unique approach to teaching dental assisting through hands-on learning.”
Adsded Kinnee: “Their 13-week program is perfect for those students who wish to pursue a career through post-secondary education but do not want to make the financial or time-intensive commitment to a two- or four-year degree. We’re very excited for all the potential collaborative opportunities between Adelante Healthcare and Unity Dental Assisting.” The official grand opening ceremony is set from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 6 at the headquarters at the Surprise Professional Center in Surprise, AZ. Members of the community, as well as current and future students and their families and friends, are encouraged to attend this event. Hors d’oeuvre will be served in a happy hour setting with live music. Information about the program can be found at unityda.com.
